April Meservy

Award-winning singer/songwriters, April Meservy and Nikki Forova, will be layin' down some sweet tunes for a select group in the cozy comfort of Todd Libby's house as part of their 2010 US Western States Indie Tour! Come and enjoy a chill evening with the fantastic music of April & Nikki!

Admission: $5 
50% of the admission to help raise awareness/funds for a cause personally meaningful to April: USeb (United Survivors of Epidermylosis Bullosa). Some info on USeb:

USeb is a nonprofit corporation organized and run primarily by people with EB. Epidermolysis Bullosa is a rare disorder characterized by severe blistering of the skin that can result in chronic open wounds that cover large surfaces of the body. People with EB can suffer malnutrition, persistent infections, anemia, digestion problems, disfiguration of the hands and extremities, cancer and even death. Our mission is to provide services that will assist people with EB in becoming more self-reliant through social, cultural, recreational, rehabilitative, educational and occupational opportunities. We value self-reliance because it inspires individual productivity, builds self-esteem, stimulates human happiness, and heals the dignity of the soul. These benefits particularly enable people with EB to not merely cope, but to rise to a position where they can succeed independently, help others to do the same, and contribute to society in worthwhile ways.

CD's will be available so bring some cash. Alternatively, we'll have the computer revved up for online purchases with credit cards.

Feel free to bring some food for everyone to share, we'll have some available as well, so if not, don't stress it.

You're also welcome to bring a friend or two if you'd like. We'll prob be able to fit about 30ish people comfortably without need for a fire escape plan. :) If you're planning on bringing others, please post that on the wall so we can get a head count.

Now, here's a little bit about the beautiful ladies :

APRIL MESERVY, from Reno, Nevada, has been featured on albums and compilations released all over the world. Meservy has performed in Salt Lake City's Olympic Square during the 2002 Winter Olympics, has performed with Matt Nathanson (Vanguard Records), and has received invitations to perform as far away as China. As a credit to her work in the studio April was honored with 5 Pearl Awards, including an award for what is perhaps the most-requested EFY song of all-time, (Shine) "The Light."

April recently released her debut album of originals, "Somewhere Between Sunsets." Among those listed on the credits of her album include the City of Prague Orchestra w/strings arranged by Emmy-Award winning Sam Cardon. The album was mastered by legendary Grammy-Award winning Doug Sax.

NIKKI FOROVA is originally from Ukraine and is now based out of Los Angeles. Winner of a National MTV Duets competition, Nikki had the amazing experience of performing the hit song "A Thousand Miles” with Grammy Nominee Vanessa Carlton.

She recently finished her debut album, "Revving Wings" (an eclectic collection of originals) and just completed a successful tour throughout Europe with "Hammerhands" Shaun Barrowes. Nikki is currently on her 2010 US Western States Tour with April Meservy.
